On-the-job training is provided for all positions. 


Requirements: Must be able to read a tape measure, own steel/hard-toed boots and a pair of gloves. All other safety equipment is provided.

Sawyer

  • Ability to determine and execute the optimum cutting pattern for breaking down logs

  • To perform minor maintenance (change saw blades, lubricate equipment, broken chain, broken hoses, crossed up lumber, or jam ups)

  • Other duties as assigned: End of day clean up, debris removed, mill is clean and prepped for the following day

Lumper

  • Work alongside sawyer during milling operations

  • Loading mills

  • Removing debris

  • Sorting and stacking of finished lumber and/or products

Bucker

  • Cuts previously marked trees into logs

  • Saws felled trees into lengths.

  • Maintains equipment i.e chain saws

  • Scaling raw materials for purchase/resale

Skid Steer Driver/ Forklift Operator

  • Operates the skid steer

  • Unloading raw materials and placing in designated areas

  • Moving raw materials to and from mills

  • Loading materials for customers

  • Routine general maintenance of the skidders

Yard Manager/ Sales

  • Eventually, with education and training be able to assist in all positions throughout production

  • Oversee and provide guidance for the entire operation

  • Sales

  • People Skills

  • Good Communication

  • General knowledge of building trades and the lumber industry

Lumber Yard Assistant

  • ​General and routine clean up of lumber yard and shop

  • To assist yard manager in daily operations

  • Help with clean up at end of day
